What is Coaching?
Professional Christian Coaching is a relatively new profession and can be somewhat challenging to define. Most people are familiar with the idea of a sports coach. Think of a Christian Coach as your personal coach for the game of life.
Most people are also aware of the concept of a business coach–someone who helps someone else start or maximize their business. Coaching is all about helping you discover your full potential, fulfill unrealized goals and about giving you the freedom to become everything God wants you to be in His Kingdom in every area of your life.
Coaching is not counseling, discipleship or mentoring–relationships in which there is, for example, a Paul and Timothy or a mentor and mentee. Coaching is often called “co-active” in that it involves two equals, peers if you will, working together to solve the problems of one. That’s the “2″ in coaching2freedom.
FAQ’s
HOW OFTEN DO WE MEET? Depending on the coaching package, weekly or biweekly. In some cases, we may begin weekly and move to biweekly sessions later, even tapering off to monthly session as our journey together comes to an end.
WHERE DO WE MEET? One of the big advantages of coaching is that it takes place over the phone. While face to face meetings may be possible and/or desirable, they are not necessary. It is a pleasure to be able to coach people anywhere in the world.
WHAT DOES IT COST? Currently, my coaching sessions are billed at about $60 per 1 hour session. Our first session, the inquiry session, is free and gives us the opportunity to further explore what coaching is all about, what everyone’s expectations are and how future sessions will be billed.
